About the Band
The Farnborough Concert Band of the Royal British Legion was formed in 1987 and performs at many engagements throughout the year; including the enjoyable annual Proms style concert held in Aldershot. This is always a sell out concert raising much needed funds for various charities. These include the Army Benevolent Fund, The Royal British Legion and local charities.
In 2010 the band were the recipients of the "Devereux Cup". This is awarded to arts and music groups in the borough of Rushmoor for outstanding contributions to the community and charities through outstanding performance.
The Band performs a variety of music ranging from Bach through to Popular music. Its versatility is displayed in the various engagements it performs at, from Regimental Dinner Nights, to Formal concerts and Summer Bandstand performances.
The Band rehearses in central Aldershot in North Hampshire on Tuesday evenings, from 8pm to 10pm.
